Maintain peace at home by soundproofing a room

When kids are small, it appears that it is not at all hard for most people to keep them calm or quiet them, as the case might be. That being said, there are several children out of control because, there are various other reasons, parents want to be friends first and parents later. But that is another problem. If you have reached a stage where the noise is beyond control and is interfering with other members of the family, a sound proof blanket might be the solution to bring harmony and peace to the family.

A few things can be done conveniently and without too much cost. First of all, consider volume control. If the annoying media player is making the floor vibrate, turn it off to ensure a quiet room.

Foam insulation board can be purchased in various densities. It is available at home development stores and large hardware stores. If the room with the maximum noise has common walls with other rooms, try to rearrange the furniture. For example, sound can be absorbed by the dressers in bedrooms. If this is not sufficient foam, board can be placed behind the furniture or sound dampening panels to be used to assist in more sound absorption.  The foam can also be cut to measure with a box cutter.

Adjacent closets may also have foam placed along the inner wall so that it works as a sound diffuser. Additional sound blankets can be utilized to cover the foam and will also enhance the amount of noise absorptive material. Additional pillows can be stored in the closet also and will also assist in serving the sound absorption requirements while in storage.

If none of these choices work, check out ear plugs in the pharmacy section of your local drug store and accumulate it.
